How quickly can you edit my document?

One of the questions our editing and proofreading customers often ask is how quickly they can have a document edited.

Sometimes, you're in a hurry and you need a company that can return your document in a few hours. At other times, the work might be less urgent, which can help reduce the cost of using an editing service.

To help you next time you want to submit a document for editing, here are our own turnaround times.

What turnaround times do you offer?

We currently offer three different timescales for our editing and proofreading services:

  1. Five business days – perfect if you've planned ahead and don't need your edited document back until next week.

  2. Three business days – ideal if your document isn't super-urgent but you'd like it back in a few days.

  3. Two business days – our best option if you're in a rush to have your document returned to you. During the working week, we can have it back on your desk in as little as 48 hours.

To find out more about how these turnaround times work in practice, please see our post 'How long do editing and proofreading services usually take?'

I have a long document for editing. Does this make any difference?

If your document is particularly long, we might not always be able to fit it in within two or three business days.

At the moment, we have a maximum word count of 5,000 words for our two-day service, and 10,000 words for work that you'd like returned to you within three business days.

If you have a longer document that you'd like us to complete within these timeframes, please email us first to check availability.

My document is urgent. Can you edit it more quickly?

If you have a very urgent document that you'd like to have edited in less than two business days, then please contact us to check whether this is possible. Although we don't offer this as a standard service, we'll do our best to fit it in if we can, depending on what else our team is working on.

It's also worth noting that this work is charged at a premium, to reflect the greater urgency involved.
